The Damascus Recovery Center, located two blocks from Dyersburg Square at 333 South Mill Avenue, is a large two-story brick building with a thrift store on the downstairs first floor and the Damascus center on the second floor. The Heaven Cent Thrift Store occupies the downstairs front entrance to both the thrift store and the Damascus Center upstairs.
The residential living quarters offer numerous double-occupancy rooms, each equipped with private bathrooms and showers. Residents have access to a professional kitchen, multiple lounges, dining tables, study and relaxation zones, as well as corporate meeting spaces with high-quality TVs, video equipment, and training aids, which are also available for movie viewing or music listening after hours. Recreational amenities include a pool table, ping-pong table, several exercise machines, and an air-hockey table, among others.
Once a resident fulfills the necessary criteria, they are permitted to work in the thrift store downstairs or engage in other volunteer projects. Over the course of several months, as residents advance through their personal objectives, they transition towards off-site employment and job opportunities.
